 Can I request an oceanfront suite ?


All of our units are not just oceanfront, but beachfront. Beware of other resorts offering "oceanview", "garden view" and "island view" rooms, these are all just ways of saying "your room isn't on the beach ! At The Reef, you are guaranteed a beachfront suite.

 I stayed at The Reef last year. Can I get the same room this year ?

We cannot confirm reservations for specific rooms or even specific floors within the resort, although we do encourage you to make such requests and we will try to honour them if at all possible.

 I like to sit in the shade, what direction do your suites face ?


The Reef Resort faces North East, so whilst the sun lights up the resort early in the morning, by early afternoon all of our patios are in the shade, giving our guests the option of basking in the sun in our beach chairs on our spacious beach, or relaxing in the shade as the cooling breeze from the Caribbean wafts over them.

We also have numerousthatched palm shade “palapas” close to our beach bar, so providing extra shade on the beach for our guests without blocking the view from our all beachfront suites.

 How about a romantic getaway ?


Our Deluxe Studio Suites are ideal, from the double Jacuzzi tub to the four post bed overlooking the Caribbean. Plenty of beach for those sunset walks and lots of romantic oceanfront restaurants to visit.

 What about disabled access ?


We do have suites specifically set up for disabled access. In addition, all our units are accessible via elevators.

 Can I access the internet ?


Hey, you're on vacation ! But seriously, yes of course, we offer WiFi. Unfortunately, at the current time we cannot offer this for free, but it is available at minimal charge.

 Should I rent a car ?


We most definitely recommend renting a car. The Reef is located at the quiet and tranquil end of Grand Cayman island, so although we enjoy an idyllic location, taxis are not readily available and things are too spread out to be in walking distance.

In addition, rental car rates in Cayman are among the least expensive in the Caribbean, and with quiet roads and friendly people, a rental car is your own self-guided key to discovering the real Cayman. Please ask our concierge for more information once you have booked your reservation with us.

 Do you offer an Airport Shuttle or can I get a taxi to the resort ?


Under local regulations resorts are not permitted to offer airport shuttle services. You can take a taxi from the airport, but cost is based per person so this can be expensive. Against this, car rentals in Cayman are the least expensive in the Caribbean, hence we recommend renting a car.

 Is there Grocery Shopping available nearby ?


Directly across the street from The Reef is a shopping center, featuring a “Fosters Express” small supermarket, an ATM, boutique and other stores.

 What are the opening hours of stores ?


It is important to note that neither grocery stores nor liquor stores are permitted to open on Sundays, hence if you do arrive on a Saturday we suggest you stop at a grocery store on your way to the resort. Email concierge@thereef.com for more information.
