History of The Reef

The fastest growing Grand Cayman Resort

Opened in May 2000, The Reef Resort began as 60 Grand Cayman condos and has now grown to include 152 spacious and comfortable beachfront suites. Our latest expansion includes 42 units opened in July 2008. But with our long 1600 foot stretch of beach, our Cayman island accommodation never feels crowded.

Our location on the east end of Grand Cayman Island, away from the crowds allows us to offer our guests a quiet place to simply relax. While George Town and Seven Mile Beach are just a short drive away, we have added many enhancements and innovations to our Grand Cayman Island resort over the last few years, so our guests need never leave if they don’t want to.

A Growing Grand Cayman Island Resort

With The Reef's growing popularity, we have expanded several times to add more Grand Cayman condos to our resort over the few short years of our history.

• 2003 - 14 units added
• 2006 - 36 units added
• 2008 - 42 units added

And we're happy to say that we're continuing to attract new guests. We have recently become a top destination for beach weddings of all sizes.

A History of Valued Guests and Members

Most of our repeat guests know and treasure the island gem that we are and have become over the past few years.

In 2004 Hurricane Ivan forced us to close our doors for some time, but only 4 months after the devastating storm The Reef was ready again for its missed guests. We received huge support from all our members and repeat guests and are very thankful for their patronage.
